Cuban Rumba is Intangible Heritage |

Havana.- The Cuban rumba entered the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, in recognition of this practice of communities and social groups.
The decision adopted by the Intergovernmental Committee of UNESCO highlights this cultural manifestation as a festive combination of music and dance.
The evaluation of the organization described the rumba of expressive style of music and dance that rests on forms of verbal communication (singing and vocal sounds) and nonverbal.
The report added that it is practiced in family circles, neighbors and in communities in festive and religious events, as a kind of mixture of tradition and contemporaneity.
In addition, it brings together individuals of all sex, social class, geographical origin or religious belief, which reinforces social cohesion and mutual respect.
