Baracoa Restore Options for Tourism
Monday, October 24, 2016

Havana.- Primary Villa of Baracoa, at the eastern end of the island, works to restore in the short term the various options for tourism.

After the impact of Hurricane Matthew, specialized forces of various institutions repair electrical infrastructure, telecommunications and road, in addition to the centers for leisure activity.

In addition, it is expected that hotels repairs and private houses dedicated to tourism will be completed by early November, concurring with the peak season for this activity.

Of all the land access routes to the city only remains interrupted the road to the city of Moa, in the neighboring province of Holguin, due to the destruction of the bridge over the river Toa.

Baracoa was the first village founded by the Spanish conquistadors in Cuba and is one of nine cities considered patrimonial by the government.
