Training for Health Professionals Evolves in Las Tunas
Monday, September 26, 2016

Havana.- Medical University of Las Tunas, in the east of the island, accounts within its enrollment more than 150 students from 34 countries.

The list of nations in this course included Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Ethiopia and Republic of Malawi, among others.

The entry of foreign students is done through the ELAM (Latin American School of Medicine) project, where students move to that territory until the third year of the degree.

There is also a Latin American training program in which students are funded by their governments, together with fellows who perform a preparatory course related to the Spanish language.

Students from other countries have a curriculum that ensures their comprehensive training as future physicians, together with the possibility of spreading elements of their culture.
