Favorable Performance in Lobster Catching |

Havana.- Fishing company Industrial La Coloma, in the westernmost province of Cuba, shows a positive development in the lobster catch.
Until the end of August, it accumulated 232,000 tons of this species, compared with an annual commitment set at 2,141 tons of shrimp.
The months of October and November are considered the best historical returns associated with winter temperatures and the occurrence of tropical cyclones.
Some 63 vessels engaged in this important work for the Cuban economy, since Asian countries are the main recipients of the product in the international market.
It is noteworthy that the company achieved its highest production with 4,258 tons in 1985, followed by 2002, when 3,080 tons were caught.
