Cuban Athlete Excels in Combined Events Circuit
Monday, September 26, 2016

Havana.- The Cuban Yorgelis Rodriguez, principal figure of heptathlon on the island, ended 2016 in the fourth place of combined events circuit.

The 21-year-old athlete came to that location after occupying the second place in the stage of Talence, France, final one in the Challenge recognized by the International Federation.

On that occasion, she added 6,373 units that eventually decided her final location, coupled with the 6,481 (national record) who placed her seventh at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and 6,280 at the stage of Gotzis.

The rules of the competition require to cover at least three of its 11 stages and to validate the three best records of each contestant.

German Carolin Schafer was the holder with 19,573 points, who was third in Gotzis (6,557), second in Ratingen (6,476) and fifth at the Olympics (6,540).
