Incentives for Culture in Western Cuba

Havana.- Mayabeque Province, in western Cuba, adds new spaces for culture with a new school dedicated to art.

The institution, located in Bejucal, began the course with 28 students of the territory and by the time being they will be taught music.

The specialties are the lute, flute, clarinet, guitar, trumpet, percussion, violin and piano, the last two starting in third grade and finishing in ninth, while the first mentioned last three years.

Center managers indicated that in the future they expect to also teach performing arts, dance and visual arts, in order to support cultural activities in the province.

Students have seven music cubicles and a theoretical classroom as well as new tools and a team of graduate teachers from the National Art School (ENA) and the University of the Arts (ISA).
