Havana.- Cuba's health system has nephrology services of excellence, capable of ensuring attention to the population of the island.
The country has the Nephrology Institute, which has five decades of experience in the treatment of kidney ailments.
For experts, the increased presence of these diseases responds to various factors, including population aging, diabetes and hypertension.
Also in the nation kidney transplants procedures are performed, with 185 executed in 2015 and prospects for another 200 in 2016.
Added to this, operate 51 Nephrology services with full coverage in the country, in which about 430,500 nephrologists and nurses perform.
