Infrastructure Project in Eastern Cuba

Havana.- The port of Santiago de Cuba, in the eastern province of the same name, benefits from an extensive process of modernization aimed at increasing its operational capacity.

The multipurpose terminal will be able to operate bagged cargo, bulk and containers, for which it has three gantry cranes.

In addition, two dozens of objects of work are planned, including a 231.15 meters reinforced concrete pier; a platform open-sky container and two covered warehouses of 10,000 tons each.

It will also admit 40 tons’ ships and to achieve that they work on a dredging channel from the bay to dock, with a view to reaching a depth of 13.60 meters.

The responsibility of the design, procurement of equipment and execution relies on the firm China Communications Construction Company Ltd. (CCCC), with extensive experience in the field.
