Cuban Player Excels in Japan Professional Baseball

Havana.- Cuba's Alfredo Despaigne, player of the Chiba Lotte Marines of the Japanese Baseball League, reached the figure of 18 complete-turn hits in the current season.

Despaigne managed the last connection in his 105th game of this campaign, with an offensive average of 291, the result of 117 hits in 402 at-bats, with 23 doubles and 76 RBIs.

The Cuban is the fifth player with most home runs in the Pacific Japanese circuit, the third in RBI and ninth with best offensive average.

In the current month of August, he has connected 13 hits in 31 innings, for an average of 419, with eight runs scored, the same number of tickets, two doubles, three homers, 10 RBIs and 12 strikeouts.

It is noteworthy that Despaigne participated in 11 national series in Cuba, accumulating 232 runs, with a mark of 36 in 2012, which is a record for a regular season.
