Cruise Tourism Gains Prominence in Cuba
Monday, July 18, 2016

Havana.- Cruise tourism contributed to the island with 53,748 vacationers in the first half of 2016, an increase of 40,751 compared to the same period in 2015.

That behavior was influenced by the periodic income of small and medium size ships, including the NSC Opera and the Adonia, of the Carnival company.

In addition, the Cuban capital was chosen as the base port by several shipping companies, which means air transportation and accommodation of tourists in the country.

MSC Opera, of the MSC Crociere brand, will include another vessel in the 2016-2017 period, while Royal Caribbean requested to begin operations with 72 scales between Havana and Miami.

It is also working on a development of a project in the Bay of Havana, even with enclaves for yachts and mega-yachts and the design of exclusive logistics and recreational infrastructure.
