Air Berlin Assumes Link Between Europe and Havana
Monday, May 30, 2016

Havana.- The company Air Berlin currently settles last details to take over the operation of a link with two weekly frequencies between the German city of Dusseldorf and Havana.

According to the Cuban Ministry of Tourism, this initiative adds new opportunities to strengthen the links between the island and the European nation.

The new operation will offer more than 400,000 new capabilities to those wishing to visit Cuba and will increase to more than 4,700 tourists from that country, taking into account flights of Condor and Eurowings.

The German market is among the top three tourist-sending countries to Cuba and in 2015 it amounted up to 175,264 visitors, a 26 percent-increase.

Cuba received last year 524,779 three million international visitors, a growth of 17 percent compared to 2014.
