Cuban Society Marked by Population Aging |

Havana.- The phenomenon of population aging is gaining ground in the Cuban population, with 19.4 percent of the population over 60 years.
According to official data, in 2015, 125,064 births were reported, compared to a figure higher than 99,000 deaths in the period.
The female population was 5.638,611 women (50.2 percent) and 5.600,393 male (49.8 percent).
Also, 2.176,657 people are over 60 years, which represents a challenge for the Cuban health system to the needs of a differentiated attention.
In that sense, Villa Clara, Sancti Spiritus and Havana are confirmed as the territories with a greater degree of aging, according to the balance of last year.
