Cuban Domestic Demand for Radiopharmaceuticals Guaranteed

Havana.- Cuba counts with the Isotope Center (Centis), to ensure the response to domestic demand for radiopharmaceuticals.

The aforementioned items are used in those specialties related to nuclear medicine and the development of the biotechnology industry, among other functions.

In addition to meeting the requirements of the country, Centis place part of their production in countries like the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Ecuador and Nicaragua.

Radiopharmaceuticals are applied fundamentally in nephrology, oncology and heart ailments study.

Within the line of nuclear medicine, the center develops about 10 lines for diagnosis of various diseases, including cancer in different locations.

Centis is the more complex installation of its type in the country and has an assortment of products within the lines of labeled compounds, radiopharmaceuticals, radioisotope generators and conventional diagnosticians.
