Cuba to Participate in Pan American Boating Event

Havana.- Cuba will take part in the Pan American Boating Championship with key figures of the discipline, in search of Olympic quotas to Rio de Janeiro-2016.

The event, based in Atlanta (USA), will be operated by the island with its best exponents, including continental and world medalists.

In that sense, the squad includes Jorge Garcia and Reinier Torres in the car kayak (K-2) to 1,000 meters, while Anael Rodriguez will compete in the canoe.

Also, canoeists Serguey Torres, medalist in the world championships and cups, and Jorge Dayan will join the two-seater (C-2) category.

So far, the Cuban boating has assured the participation in the appointment of kayaker Yusmary Mengana, who finished fifth in the final of the K-1 200 meters World Cup in Italy.
