Private Sector Reinforces Presence in Cuban Tourism
Monday, November 30, 2015

Havana.- The private sector strengthens its presence in the tourism sector on the island, as an alternative response to the growing demand from vacationers.

In the case of the central Cuban province of Villa Clara, 266 rental houses that charge in convertible pesos (CUC) and are managed by workers of the non-state segment are recorded.

Of all the private landlords operating in the area, 182 offer services in the capital city of the province and another 49 in Remedios, a town that this year reached its half a millennium of existence.

From January to October, these households received 57,600 foreign tourists, for an annual growth of around 64 percent.

Also, 93 units have contracts with Cuban travel agencies Cubanacan Cubatur, Havanatur and Amistur, ensuring the influx of customers.
