Honey Production in Western Cuba Boosted |

Havana.- The province of Pinar del Rio, the westernmost part of the island, accumulated to date some 275 tons of honey, close to the year’s initial predictions.
Agriculture managers in the territory indicated that they are ready to reach the estimated production volume of about 420 tons of that product.
All the province municipalities are working to overcome the contributions to the industry reported in 2014, when 412 tons of the above-mentioned exportable item were produced.
The means for beekeeping tasks are available to workers such as loggers and equipment to handle the honey, which will help to reach the 700 tons mark in 2018.
Consumers in the European Union are the main recipients of the product, valued in the international market at 3,200 euros per ton.
