Cuban Agriculture Seeks to Recover Coffee Production
Monday, November 30, 2015

Havana.- Cuban agricultural sector works to recover coffee production, supported by the delivery of farms in usufruct and improvements in the collection of grain prices.

According to experts, the island has 32 of its municipalities with over 70,000 hectares cultivated with this product, essentially located in mountainous areas.

The draft foresees significant investments in coffee recovery, with the renovation and expansion of cultivated areas as well as the introduction of a more intensive and modernized system.

The plan includes the substitution of aged plants for younger ones, with higher force and genetic capacity, an aspect that should be reflected in the productive contribution.

Also, improvements in processing centers with the introduction of green technology for better end grain production will be implemented.
