Cuba readies Digital TV Service |

Havana.- Digital television project in Cuba already has 62 transmitters in 56 centers, with capacity to provide service to nearly seven million people.
Experts noted that this plan allowed the elimination of 14 quiet zones from 2014 to date with a single transmitter, and expect to eradicate seven more for 2016.
Along with that, set-top boxes checked and approved by specialized centers are marketed, including those for HD transmissions.
On top of that, about 400,000 boxes were contracted to meet next year´s first half demand, items that could grow up to 900,000 according to the evolution of sales.
Also, the investment process will be completed in 2024 in the field of local television centers, in order to ensure the quality of the content in its original format.
