Cuba to Compete in Electrical Cars Racing Tournament

Havana.- Cuba will compete with two pilots in the 2015 Juan Manuel Fangio International Trophy for electrical cars in Argentina.

Cuba's delegation includes Ronel Cueto and Damián Hostia, both high-school students, according to the Karting Federation of Cuba (FAKC).

It will be the first event of this kind sponsored by the International Automobile Federation (FIA), with participation of 25 cars of the same model Fangio Spirit.

In addition to Cuba and the host country, pilots from Bolivia, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, French Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela will also participate.

According to experts, the winning team of the tournament will be the one that travels the longest distance in one hour, with power supplied by batteries.
