Spanish Authorities to Support Companies Investing in Cuba
Monday, August 24, 2015

Havana.- Spanish authorities are putting the finishing touches on several mechanisms to support the companies from that country operating in Cuba, in order to boost investments.

According to the Foreign Trade Institute (ICEX), 252 Spanish companies are already operating in several sectors of Cuba's economy.

As part of those actions, Compañía Española de Financiación y Desarrollo presented a line of credit worth 40 million euros.

For its part, Compañía de Seguros de Crédito a la Exportación (CESCE) opened a second funding mechanism of 24 million euros for Spanish firms interested in investing in Cuba.

The new Cuban Foreign Investment Act is more favorable to foreign investors, as it envisages several modalities of investment.
