Matanzas Reports Increased Oil Production |

Havana.- The Cuban western province of Matanzas produced 761,000 tons of oil in the first semester of 2015.
Executives from Empresa de Perforación y Extracción de Petróleo (EPEP) del Centro pointed out that during that period, 162 million cubic meters of gas were produced.
The introduction of technological improvements and the rapid solution to underground problems contributed to improve efficiency in the exploitation of more than 160 wells.
In addition, experts are working on the study of the potential of the province's northern region in order to acquire new equipment to drill long-range wells.
The company plans to maintain that level of production in the second semester of the year, as well as high efficiency in operations.
