Actions in Favor of Senior Citizens in Camagüey |

Havana.- The healthcare system in the eastern Cuban province of Camagüey will be enlarged to take care of senior citizens.
The sector is expected to add more than 350 places in elderly homes and clubs in the province.
As part of actions, several of the province's 13 such institutions will be remodeled to increase the number of beds for inpatients and the capacities for those who receive day-care services.
In Camagüey, elderly homes can attend to nearly 1,000 people, in addition 157 places at day-care centers in a province where more than 142,000 people are senior citizens.
As of September, more than 50 percent of polyclinics in Camagüey will have classrooms to train caretakers of the elderly, including both relatives and those who do that work professionally.
