Cuba Reports Increase in Nickel Production |

Havana.- Nickel production in Moa, in the eastern Cuban province of Holguín, had increased at the end of the first semester of 2015.
The processing plants exceeded the production plans by 2.5 percent during the aforementioned period, as a result of improved efficiency.
In that regard, production of nickel and cobalt exceeded the plan in each process at the companies Ernesto Che Guevara and Pedro Sotto Alba.
In addition, maintenance cycles were fulfilled and investments were made to repair the boilers and generators in the two factories.
Nickel is one of Cuba's hard-currency earners, although it is subject to price fluctuations on the international market, due to offer and supply rules.
