Havana Dominates National School and Youth Games

Havana.- Havana province finished first in the 2015 edition of the National School and Youth Games, dominating 15 sports.

The members of the Havana delegation won 137 titles, 98 silver medals and 94 bronze medals, followed by Santiago de Cuba (52-50-66), Granma (49-49-50), Villa Clara (40-66-62) and Pinar del Río (37-29-54).

The other provinces were Camagüey (34-48-53), Sancti Spíritus (34-40-65), Cienfuegos (29-39-68), Matanzas (29-37-31), Guantanamo (26-19-36) and Holguín (24-36-24).

Las Tunas (22-24-40), Mayabeque (16-15-18), Artemisa (11-13-26) and Isla de la Juventud (3-2-6) followed in the table of medals of the event, in which Venezuela, Mexico and the United States participated as guests.

The most outstanding athlete in the youth category was triple jumper Lázaro Martínez, who jumped 16.99 meters and is first in the world ranking.
