Cuba to Increase Production of Machine-Made Cigars |

Havana.- Production of machine-made cigars by the company ICT will increase after a program of investments is executed.
Since the company's foundation to May 2015, 1.4 billion machine-made cigars were produced, accounting for revenues of 250 million dollars.
Due to an expected increase in demand, a comprehensive strategy was designed to double production in the next eight years, totaling 300 million units in 12 months.
Therefore, authorities said, rapid machines will be installed in 2016 to increase production from 20 to 40 cigars per minute.
Another project is aimed at automating the packaging line, which currently depends on manual work.
