Cuban Beach Volleyball Players Excel at World Championship |

Havana.- The Cuban pair made up of Nivaldo Díaz and Sergio González excelled at the World Beach Volleyball Championship, where they finished among the top 16 teams.
The Cuban players won three games and lost two, including one to Brazil's Pedro Solberg-Evandro Gonzalvez.
According to experts, that performance ratifies the Cuban team among the favorite pairs to win medals at the Pan-American Games in Toronto, Canada, from July 10-26.
The Cuban team's victories were against El Salvador's Carlos Escobar and David Vargas, 2-0 (21-11, 22-20), Poland's Michal Kadziola and Jakub Szalankiewicz, 2-1 (20-22, 21-13, 15-12), and Spain's Pablo Herrera and Adrián Gaviria, 2-0 (21-19 y 22-20).
They lost to Reinder Nummerdor and Christiaan Varenhorst, from the Netherlands, with a score of 1-2 (17-21, 21-18, 14-16).
