Cuba Applies Treatments to Fight Infertility |

Havana.- Cuba's healthcare system is promoting actions to fight infertility with support from institutions like the Assisted Reproduction Center in the central province of Cienfuegos.
The institution, which was inaugurated in 2010, has treated more than 2,700 infertile couples from different regions of the country who are receiving simple or complex treatments.
The center carries out procedures such as sperm counts, hormone tests, intrauterine insemination and minimal-access surgeries.
As part of the program, there is a team made up of gynecologists and obstetricians, laboratory experts, nurses, urologist, endocrinologists, psychologists and support personnel.
From the teaching viewpoints, the center receives fourth-year medical students and residents in related specialties, and organizes post-graduate courses for physicians and nurses who work in the primary healthcare system.
