Cuban Baseball Team that will Compete in Toronto Announced

Havana.- The Cuban baseball team that will compete in the Pan-American Games in Toronto, Canada, in July, was announced.

The team is made up of three catchers, six infielders, five outfielders and ten pitchers, who will be coached by Roger Machado.

The team will play several games before the continental games, including a series of games against a US university team, in addition to participating in the so-called Festival of the Americas.

Cuba has won 12 baseball titles in Pan-American Games, ten gold medals in a row from 1971 to 2007, in addition to a silver medal and a bronze medal.

The Cuban team is made up of the catchers Frank Camilo Morejón, Yosvani Alarcón and Yulexis La Rosa, and the infielders are Alexander Malleta, Raúl González, Rudy Reyes, Luis Yander La O, Yordan Manduley and Yorbis Borroto.

It also includes the outfielders Frederich Cepeda, Yadiel Hernández, Alfredo Despaigne, José Adonis García and Roel Santos.
