Executives from Mariel Special Development Zone Present Business Opportunities
Monday, May 25, 2015

Havana.- Executives from the Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM, in Spanish), in western Cuba, presented a wide range of business and investment opportunities in that economic center.

The officials explained the special regimes approved, including taxes, an attraction for concessionaries and users who are exempted of paying taxes on personal revenues.

The strategy aims to attract foreign investment and the presence of domestic companies and cooperatives, according to the legal terms approved for that effect.

Actions focus on the creation of the infrastructure in sectors linked to the industry, power generation and construction projects.

That way, the way is paved for the future approval of investment projects presented by companies from more than 36 countries, including Spain, Cuba, Italy, Vietnam, China, France, Brazil, Mexico, the Netherlands and Canada.
