Cuba to Compete in World Triathlon Cup
Monday, May 25, 2015

Havana.- Three Cuban competitors will participate in the fourth phase of the World Triathlon Cup, scheduled for mid June in Huatulco, Mexico.

The Cuban delegation includes Michel González, as well as women competitors Leslie Amat and Lisandra Hernández, the latter a bronze medalist in the Central American and Caribbean Games in Veracruz, Mexico, in 2014.

Held under the sprint modality, the cup will bring together 120 triathletes from 30 countries, who will swim 750 meters, will pedal 20 kilometers and will run five kilometers.

For the Cubans, the event will contribute to their training for the Pan-American Games in Toronto, Canada, in July.

Huatulco will welcome world-class triathletes like Miguel Arrailoz (Portugal), Felipe Barraza and Felipe Van Wigard (Chile), Gregory Billintong (United States) and Leonardo Chacón (Costa Rica).
