Kitesurfing Gains Ground in Cuba's Tourism Sector
Monday, May 4, 2015

Havana.- Cuba's tourism industry is promoting a wide range of options aimed at diversifying the recreational offers, including kitesurfing.

That activity, which consists of waterskiing or surfing while being pulled by a kite, has been included in the catalogue of options of the travel agency Ecotur.

According to experts, it is a modality with great potential and it has been welcomed by foreign tourists, so two kitesurfing schools have been created, one in Varadero and the other one in Jardines del Rey (King's Gardens).

The training centers are run by tour operators that work with Ecotur and the Marlin Marina.

One of the schools is in the Villa Cojímar Hotel, where the first Cuban Kitesurfing Festival will be held in May in order to foster that recreational option.
