Cuban Athletes Train in Mexico
Monday, April 13, 2015

Havana.- Cuban athletes are training in Mexico, as a previous step to their participation in international events.

According to experts, they are training in Puebla to get ready for major competitions such as the Pan-American Games in Toronto, Canada, and the World Championship in Beijing, China.

The good news is that triple jumper Yargelis Savigne, world champion in Osaka 2007 and silver medalist in Helsinki 2005, will compete again in an effort to qualify for the continental games.

For her part, Yarisley Silva (pole vault), Olympic silver medalist in London 2012, will compete in the Drake Relays event in the United States.

Cuba will also participate in several stages of the Diamond League, including the first one in Doha, Qatar, and in the Grand Prix in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
