Cuban Karateists Excel at Continental Championship in Canada |

Havana.- Cuban karateists won six medals at the recent Pan-American Karate Championship held in the Canadian city of Toronto.
The Cuban delegation won two silver medals and four bronze medals, enough to finish 11th by countries at the continental event.
The most outstanding Cuban karateists in kumite (combat) were Cirelis Martínez, in the 68-kilogram division, and Jander Tiril, in the open category for men.
The bronze medalists were Yoandra Moreno (+68) and Dennis Pelayo (84), in addition to finishing third by teams.
The Venezuelan team (4-3-2) finished in the first place, followed by Brazil (3-3-9) and Ecuador, in that order.
