Cuba to Increase Production of new Construction Material |

Havana.- The cooperative La Esperanza, in the central Cuban province of Sancti Spiritus, will produce plastic timber as an experiment.
The objective of this initiative is to meet the need to replace traditional timber to make beams and boards for the construction sector.
The small factory is the only one of its kind in Cuba that reuses plastic to create and commercialize more than 15 products, including water and electric pipes, hoses, elements for irrigation system and other products that are highly demanded by people and institutions.
During the test period, the factory will produce a board that can be used to make windows, doors, tables and other household goods.
