Cuba Promotes Primary Health Care |

Havana.- Medical services in the eastern Cuban province of Camagüey are consolidating the primary healthcare system.
That mechanism is supported by the network of family doctor's offices, which is complemented by polyclinics in several regions of the country.
In addition, basic work groups guarantee the presence of experts in internal medicine, pediatrics and obstetrics, among other medical specialties, in the community.
That way, each of those structures must treat nearly 2,000 people with support of transportation to carry the professionals.
The family doctors' field work must be improved so that 80 percent of health problems can be solved at the primary healthcare level.
