Havana.- Cuba's best triathletes qualified for the Pan-American Games in Toronto, Canada, in 2015, after winning the title at an event held in Barranquilla, Colombia.
Cuban triathletes Lisandra Hernández and Leslie Amat won the gold and the silver medals, respectively, at the Pan-American Cup and the Central American and Caribbean Championship of Triathlon, attended by more than 60 athletes from 20 countries.
That way, Hernández qualified directly for the continental games, scheduled for July in Toronto.
Among the men, Brazilian triathlete Bruno Matheus was first, followed by Rodrigo González (Mexico) in the second place and Oscar David Preciado (Colombia) in the third position.
Organizers recalled that the results at the event will also have an impact on the continental ranking to qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2016.
