Cuba Defines Sport Priorities in 2015
Monday, January 19, 2015

Havana.- Cuba's sport priorities in 2015 include participation in the Pan-American Games in Toronto, Canada.

The president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), Antonio Becali, pointed out that Cuba's goal is to remain in the second place by countries at the continental games.

That condition was achieved in 1971 and has been maintained to date, with the exception of the 1991 games, held in Havana, where Cuba finished in the first place.

He also noted the importance of systematic training for high-performance athletes and improving the scientific capacity of human resources.

It is also important to integrate Cuban universities, which are a strength of higher education and the sport movement, due to their contributions to the scientific level of the athletes who graduate from university.
