Varadero's Tollbooth Resumes Operations |

Havana.- Varadero's tollbooth, in the western Cuban province of Matanzas, resumed operations after undergoing remodeling works.
According to statistics, the facility handles some 7,000 vehicles a day and collects nearly 5.8 million pesos a year.
The remodeling works consisted of improving the cabins' conditions and signaling, and broadening the lanes to allow any kind of vehicles to go through.
The reopening of the tollbooth was undertaken according to plan, before the beginning of the peak tourist season in Varadero.
The works will allow reducing the time of wait to 4-7 seconds if the toll is paid with a ticket, and ten seconds if it is paid in cash.
