Cuba Promotes Prevention against Cancer |

Havana.- Cuba's healthcare system is promoting prevention to curb the high incidence of cancer, which is the major cause of death in the country.
According to experts, Cuba reports 32,000 new cases of cancer every year and more than 20,000 deaths due to that disease.
The main types of cancer reported in Cuba affect the lungs (in both men and women), the prostate gland, breasts and colon.
In order to minimize the impact of the disease, a change in lifestyles and a healthy diet are required, in addition to not smoking and practicing physical exercises.
Moreover, experts are working on the installation of external radiotherapy equipment to treat some specific types of cancer.
