Cuban Boxers to Train in Morocco
Monday, September 29, 2014

Havana.- The Cuban national boxing team will train in Morocco, where they will also participate in the Mohammed VI Cup.

The Cuban delegation includes Olympic champions Robeisy Ramírez (56 kg) and Roniel Iglesias (69 kg), as well as two-time world champions Lázaro Alvarez (60 kg) and Julio César La Cruz (81 kg).

Other team members are two-time world silver medalist Yasnier Toledo (64 kg), Arlen López (75) kg, Erislandy Savón (91 kg) and Yoandris Toirac (+91 kg).

Cuban sport officials pointed out that the 49- and 52-kg divisions will be the toughest for Cuban boxers Santiago Amador and Yosbany Veitía, respectively. The latter won the bronze medal at the World Championship.

The competition is part of the Cuban boxers' training for the Central American and Caribbean Games in Veracruz, Mexico, in November.
