New Investments in Agri-industrial Complex in Ciego de Avila
Monday, September 22, 2014

Havana.- The Agri-Industrial Complex in Ceballos, in the eastern Cuban province of Ciego de Avila, will benefit from investments worth 15 million pesos.

The works are aimed at tripling the plant's capacity in a short term, thus benefiting Cuba's economy.

The plan of investments has been executed at 50 percent, mainly in assembling a modern water-treating plant, and installing a more efficient boiler and a vaporizer.

Other projects include new lines to can juices, process tomato, make bars of preserves and small doses of creams, among other products.

From January to August 2014, the Ceballos complex produced 30,000 tons of food made of tomato, guava, pineapple, mango, banana, potato and papaya.
