Cuban Player Osleni Guerrero Leads Continental Badminton Ranking
Monday, September 1, 2014

Havana.- Cuban player Osleni Guerrero continues leading the world badminton ranking, although he lost in the first round of the World Championship.

Guerrero lost two sets (13-21 and 15-21) to Japanese player Sho Sasaki in the tournament, held in Copenhagen, Denmark.

He ranks 46th in the world with 29,330 points, but he is still the top player in the American continent, ahead of US player Sattawat Pongnairat.

Guerrero, who was the Pan-American silver medalist in Guadalajara-2011, has won two titles in the ongoing season, including the gold medals in the Open Tournament in Peru and the International Tournament in Venezuela.

In 2014, he will compete in the Central American and Caribbean Games in Veracruz, Mexico, where Cuba is expected to win the title in the men's individual contest.
