Ecotourism in Spanish Market
Monday, August 25, 2014

Madrid.- La Malvarrosa beach, in the Spanish community of Valencia, will benefit from the construction of an artificial coral reef.

The initiative is part of plans to protect the region's biodiversity, in addition to guaranteeing the recovery of beaches to minimize the impact of erosion.

In the first phase of the project, three concrete structures that were submerged in several months to adjust them to the environment will make up the coral reef.

In the second phase, the structures will be moved to their final location, some 180 meters from the shore and nearly four meters deep.

The concrete structures have different shapes to create a pleasant environment that will allow the implantation of a marine ecosystem.
