Vietnamese Aquatic Marionettes in Cuba
Monday, August 25, 2014

Havana.- Cultural events in Cuba included performances by the company Thang Long Aquatic Marionettes, from Hanoi, Vietnam.

The company performed in Cuba for the second time and presented their new show called "Vietnamese Scenes".

That art is exclusive of Vietnam and it has been declared humankind's cultural heritage. Besides, it is the only such a company in the Asian continent.

The play of marionettes, which are handled by skilled artists, shows captivating atmospheres and peculiar characters that tell stories that have passed from generation to generation.

The company Thang Long (Flying Dragon) was founded in 1969 to rescue a thousand-year-old art that was created in 1010, during the rule of Emperor Ly Thai.
