New Biofertilizer Plant in Villa Clara
Monday, August 18, 2014

Havana.- A new plant to produce biofertilizers for agriculture will be inaugurated in the central Cuba province of Villa Clara.

The factory, whose construction is at 30 percent of completion, will produce the necessary inputs to control plagues and supply nutrients to crops.

The development and implementation of these kinds of practices will allow the country to save resources by concept of imports of urea, whose price on the international market ranges from 250 to 350 dollars per ton.

In addition, the factory will produce at least a dozen compounds obtained from the toxins of microorganisms.

The plant will be completely automated, with controls to measure fuel consumption and the generation of steam, among other parameters.
