Cuban Boxers Win Three Titles in Bogotá
Monday, August 18, 2014

Havana.- Cuban boxers won three titles in the qualifier for the Central American and Caribbean Games held in Bogotá, Colombia.

Cuba was represented by three boxers who won one gold medal each, thus completing the pending slots for the regional event in Veracruz, Mexico.

In the finals, Yosbany Veitía, Robeisy Ramírez and Arlen López won by a 3-0 voting, although they had already qualified for the Central American and Caribbean Games.

Therefore, Cuba achieved the goal of taking ten boxers to the regional contest in November, when it will be one of the favorite countries to win the event with a team led by Olympic welterweight champion Roniel Iglesias.

The Cuban delegation also includes Lázaro Alvarez, Julio César La Cruz, Yasnier Toledo, Erislandy Savón, Yoandris Toirac and Santiago Amador.
