Distillery in Ciego de Avila Reports Increased Production |

Havana.- The company Unidad Empresarial de Base de Derivados, which is attached to the sugar industry in Chambas municipality, Ciego de Avila, has increased operations in its distillery.
The plant produced 89,457 hectoliters of alcohol and used raw materials and fuel rationally.
Company executives pointed out that the goal is to produce some 100,000 hectoliters of alcohol this year, for which purpose the necessary inputs are available.
Founded in 1944, the plant benefited from investments to repair and maintain its main equipment, including the distilling columns and the construction of a laboratory.
The different kinds of alcohols produced at the plant are used to make rum for the national market and export, as well as for domestic use and the pharmaceutical industry.
