Cuban Chess Players Train for Olympic Event

Havana.- Cuba's best chess players are grouped in men's and women's teams to compete in the world Olympics in Tromso, Norway.

The men's team is headed by Grand Master (GM) Leinier Domínguez, who ranks 11th in the world.

The other team members are Lázaro Bruzón, Yunikesy Quesada, national champion Isam Ortiz and Yuri González, who made the Cuban delegation for the first time.

The women's team is headed by Lisandra Ordaz and includes national champion Sulennis Piña, Yanira Vigoa, Maritza Arribas and Yaniet Marrero.

The Olympic event will bring together more than 100 teams of men and women who will compete in 11 rounds. The Cuban players expect to finish among the top ten teams.
