New Air Connection between Europe and Cuba
Monday, July 21, 2014

Havana.- The airline Aeroatlantic is operating a new weekly charter flight between Lisbon (Portugal) and Cayo Coco, in Jardines del Rey (King's Gardens).

Executives from the tour operator Sonhando, which promotes the initiative, said that some 2,500 tourists are expected to be carried between Portugal and Cuba until September 2014.

They added that all seats have been sold out for the next flights, which means that European tourists have vast knowledge about Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo.

This option will increase the occupation rate in Jardines del Rey, especially at the Pestana Cayo Coco Beach Resort, the first hotel run by the Portuguese group Pestana in the Caribbean.

Jardines del Rey, off the north coast of central Cuba, offers more than 6,000 rooms in 17 hotels in Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo, which receive some 200,000 tourists every year.
