International Guitar Festival in Havana |

Havana.- The 7th International Guitar Festival and Contest of Havana will be held with the participation of many Latin American and European guitar players.
A large program of concerts and recitals will be held parallel to the event, with guest artists such as Hopkinson Smith from the United States who is a specialist on Spanish music for vihuela (an early form of guitar) and baroque guitar.
Likewise, the participation of Alvaro Pierri from Uruguay, who has an impressive discographic work and an acclaimed teaching career in Europe and the United States, is also expected.
The list of participants also includes the German guitarist Franz Halasz, winner of the Segovia Award in 1993 and interpreter of the complete works of the Japanese composer Toru Takemitsu, and the U.S. piano player Anthony Spiri.
In addition, the outstanding Cuban guitar player Joaquín Clerch, who currently teaches at the Robert Schumann Music University in Dusseldorf, Germany, will participate.
